Alpha Kappa Chapter
Alpha Kappa is a part of the Texas State Organization, TSO, of the Delta Kappa Society International a society for key women educators. We meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month in the months of September, October, November, February, March, and April. We join the other Lubbock Chapters in December and May. The day and time to be announced. Alpha Kappa will meet at Texas Tech International Cultural Center at 6:30 pm unless otherwise noted.

Upcoming Meetings
March 20: Orientation for initiates at Lubbock Women's Club at 2020 Broadway. Initiates, who have joined in the last year, and Incoming Officers should come to this presentation. Everyone else is invited.
March 24: Gamma Eta's 80th Birthday Celebration. Time is Noon at First United Methodist Church, 416 Main St., Crosbyton, TX. RSVP to Sharon McDougle. April 3, 2018: Initiations and Social Gathering at Local Restaurant. Please RSVP to Kay S. for the dinner. The members will be paying initiates who became sisters in the last year. May 5: Founder's Lunch at Lubbock Women's Club at 2020 Broadway. All members and guests are welcome. We will invite our Grant-In-Aid recipient. More Information to be provided later. |

Meeting Date and Summaries 2017 Meetings September 5 at 6:00 pm at St. Paul's of the Plains Episcopal Church at 16th St. & Ave. X. (Parking is West of the building, and use the door toward the back on that side.) Alpha Kappa is planning to make their first fall meeting all about the history of Delta Kappa Gamma. October 3rd at 6p.m. NOTE CHANGES Now meeting at Sunset Church of Christ-3723 34th For our October meeting, we will have a presentation from Dr. Kerry Thuett about exercise and nutrition. This will give our members knowledge to bridge into tomorrow for healthy living strategies which address the third goal of TSO for 2017-2019. Thinking of next year, March is Nutrition Month and April is Physical Wellness Month. November 7th at 6:00 pm at Sunset Church of Christ-3723 34th. December 2, 2017 Lubbock Women's Club 2020 Broadway Christmas Luncheon (Please check invitation for starting time) 2018 Meetings February 6 at 6:00 pm at Sunset Church of Christ-3723 34th. Please arrive early because church doors close at 6 pm. Contact Kay S. to be let in after 6 pm. We will be sharing a soup supper and birthday cake. This meeting, the chapter will have a silent auction and a re-dedication ceremony. Our Area 12 Coordinator, Sharon M. will come and speak to us.
