Alpha Kappa History 2012- 2014
The year started with our traditional Salad Supper at Texas Tech International Cultural Center. Members A- L brought Salads and the members M-Z paid $5 to go to the Jean Castleberry Grant in Aide. In October we went to the Children's Protective Service home. We held our meeting there and toured the facility. We sponsored the Christmas Tea for the Lubbock Chapters. We held no meeting in January. Soup and birthday celebration in February. Members M-Z brought the soup while members A-Z brought $5 for out Grant in Aide. March had a meeting and a combined orientation by the Lubbock Coordinating Council. April a member from John Frullo’s office informed us of important upcoming legislation and inform us of Mr. Frullo’s position on various topics. Initiation took place adding two new members. The Founders’s Day Luncheon was held at the Lubbock Women’s Club where the initiation of new offices was held. The ending of the year found us with new babies and babies to come. It was a good year. October had us learning how to do digital scrapbooks. November had us hearing about a members trip to Turkey. Our project to help the schools was coordinated and we began collecting children's books that would be good for the students to practice English.Students came to share info on their culture. Once again we had new members to initiate in April. The Founders' Day Luncheon was again held in the Women's Club with initiation of new officers.

The year started with our traditional Salad Supper at Whiteside Elementary. Members A- L brought Salads and the members M-Z paid $5 to go to the Jean Castleberry Grant in Aide. Mr. Moore Vice Principal Estacado High School, updated us on the goals, and needs of his high school. In October Mrs. Ballinger who is locally well known for her coupon shopping so to us about ways to receive tremendous
savings. Autism was the subject of November. Inclusion in the school system is forcing teachers to learn to cope with autistic children on a continuing basis. December had us at the Lubbock Women’s Club for a Christmas Coffee. Afterword we went to Angelica’s house to
